Add a TM4J Repository

(1) Click the Repositories icon in the LHS menu pane.

(2) Select TM4J in the list of Repository types on the LHS and click on the + icon to add a new TM4J repository, as shown below.

(3) Fill out the details for your TM4J server (repository), as shown below.

  • URL - Base URL of your TM4J repository.

  • Name - Name of the TM4J repository. Provide a unique name to distinguish this TM4J repository from others you may add.

  • Description - Description of the TM4J repository

  • Authentication type - Basic (default)

  • Username - Username to sign in to your TM4J repository. Enter the same username that you use on the TM4J web client.

  • Password - Password to sign in to your TM4J repository. Enter the same password that you use on the TM4J web client.

Browse a TM4J Repository

(1) Expand the TM4J repository after it has been added.

(2) If your repository details are correct, Syndeia Cloud will try to sign in to the TM4J repository and display Projects, as shown below:

(3) Expand a Project to view now known as Zephyr Scale, is a Test Management app deployed on JIRA repositories. If you have added a JIRA repository to the Syndeia Web Dashboard, and have TM4J enabled on a JIRA Project, then you can browse and search TM4J artifacts as described below.

(1) Expand a JIRA Project that has TM4J enabled.

(2) You will see three categories of TM4J artifacts - Test milestonesCases, Test runsPlans, and Test suitesCycles - as shown below.

(43) Expand the Test milestonesCases category to view all Milestones, such as shown above Test Cases in the given project.

(54) Expand the Test runs Plans category to view all Test Runs. Expand a Test Run to view all Tests in the expanded Test RunPlans in the given project.

Search TM4J artifacts in a JIRA Project

Users can search for TM4J Projects, and Milestones, Test Cases, Test RunsPlans, and Test Suites Cycles in a given JIRA Project that is TM4J enabled. Click on the Search icon 🔍 on the RHS to see the Search tab.

Users can search by IDs. The ID of a Project, Milestone, Test Suite, Test Case, and Test Run are visible in the TM4J web client on the top LHS in a colored oval next to the name. For example, the ID of the Project Autonomous Vehicle shown below is P6.

  • Select TestCase in the Select artifact type option, as shown below dropdown.

  • Specify the ID key of the Project Test Case you are searching for.

The Digital Thread Explorer for TM4J will show both intra-model relations between TM4J artifacts (e.g. Test SuitePlan, Test CaseCycle, Test RunCases, and Testslinked JIRA issues), and inter-model relations created using Syndeia, e.g. relations between TM4J artifacts and requirements (Jama Connect or DOORS NG), software modules (GitHub), hardware models (PLM/CAD), or other artifacts in your digital thread.
