Introduction

In this section of the guide, the user management capabilities of the Syndeia Web Dashboard is presented.

Syndeia Cloud supports three main categories of users based on where they are defined natively.

  • Local User = User created and managed natively in Syndeia Cloud.

  • LDAP User = User defined in the LDAP service that is configured with Syndeia Cloud.

  • SSO User = User defined in the SSO service that is configured with Syndeia Cloud.

To learn more about configuring Syndeia Cloud with your enterprise LDAP and SSO providers, refer to User Management.

  • Refer to User Management - Basics for basic user management capabilities for local users, such as creating, modifying, or enabling/disabling local users.

  • Refer to User Management - Privileges to learn about Global and Digital Thread Project privileges for users.

(info) User Management for LDAP and SSO users - When Syndeia Cloud is configured to use your enterprise LDAP or Single Sign On (SSO) service, users and their authentication are managed by those services. However, authorization (privilege management) for those users is managed in Syndeia using the Web Dashboard. Refer to User Management - Privileges under this section for details.
