Tutorials - Syndeia for MagicDraw

Syndeia comes with tutorials with step-by-step instructions and working models. The first tutorials are structured so that the reader starts with a simple model in the SysML tool, then generates its equivalent in the repository. Using the repository-based model, the next section reverses the process to re-generate the model in SysML. This approach eliminates the need for the reader to create tables, bills-of-materials (PLM), or requirement structures etc. in the repository tool. It does, however, require the reader to have read and write access privileges to an empty folder or package in the repository.

The tutorials assume that the user is familiar with MagicDraw and has a general understanding of the structure of the other engineering tools, repositories and databases to which it will be interfaced.

Syndeia 3.2 has been baselined with MagicDraw 18.0 sp6 (including the SysML plugin) so that it can work with later versions of MagicDraw. The tutorial models are saved in MagicDraw 18.0 sp6. The tutorial instructions are written based on MagicDraw 18.0 sp6. Although Syndeia 3.2 will work with all MagicDraw versions after 18.0 sp6, it has been rigorously tested with MagicDraw 18.0 sp6 and MagicDraw 18.5 sp1. This includes the Cameo Systems Modeler variant of MagicDraw.

Right click on any element in the SysML model tree or diagram, and select Syndeia > Help > Tutorials, as shown below. This will open the tutorials folder installed with the Syndeia plugin. The folder contains a PDF document for the tutorials and the related models.
