Adding Windchill repository using OAuth
Refer to the sections below to set up your Windchill account for OAuth connection and authorize Syndeia to use it.
Windchill OAuth Setup
The Syndeia admin should follow the instructions at the link below to configure OAuth on the Windchill server. Note that this needs to be done only once and then each user should authorize Windchill with Syndeia as described in the section below.
Authorize Windchill with Syndeia
Syndeia client users should follow the steps below to connect to Windchill using OAuth.
When creating or updating the Windchill repository, select OAuth from the Authentication Type dropdown as shown below, then click OK for Windchill Repository Creation (Figure 1) or Update for Windchill Repository Update (Figure 2).
Next, the OAuth Sign In dialog should be shown as in Figure 3 below with a Verification URI and Activation Code.
Click Sign In to open the Verification URI in your system’s default browser. Then follow the prompts to sign in. The exact screens will vary depending on the configured provider. Figure 4 shows the PingFederate sign-on page, while Figures 5 and 6 show Microsoft Authenticator.
Once signed in, follow the necessary steps to verify access. You should see the Activate your device screen with the same Activation Code as was shown in Figure 3. With PingFederate, this consists of two steps to confirm the activation code as in Figure 7 and then click Allow to confirm permissions as in Figure 8. Microsoft Authenticator device authentication is shown in Figure 9.
Once authorized, you should see a message that the device is authorized as in Figure 10. In a moment, Syndeia should display the contents of the authenticated repository as in Figure 11.
Now, the contents of the Windchill repository can be expanded, including Libraries, Products, and Projects as shown in Figure 12. Proceed to the Tutorials for more on the Syndeia Windchill integration.
