Introduction

In this section of the guide, the user management capabilities of the Syndeia Web Dashboard is presented.

Syndeia Cloud supports three main types of user authentication, as also presented under the User Managementsection in Syndeia Cloud deployment.

  • Local Authentication: Authenticating users created and managed natively in Syndeia Cloud, aka Local Users.

  • LDAP Authentication: Authenticating users managed by the LDAP provider that is configured with Syndeia Cloud.

  • SSO Authentication: Authenticating users managed by the SSO Identity Provider (IdP) that is configured with Syndeia Cloud.

Under this section, refer to:

  • User Management - Basics for basic user management capabilities for local users, such as creating, modifying, or enabling/disabling local users.

  • User Management - Privileges to learn about Global and Digital Thread Project privileges for all users - Local, LDAP, or SSO.

(info) When Syndeia Cloud is configured to use your enterprise LDAP or Single Sign On (SSO) IdPs, users and their authentication are managed by those services. However, authorization (privilege management) for those users is managed in Syndeia using the Web Dashboard. Refer to User Management - Privileges under this section for details.
