Syndeia 3.5 SP2 - Improvements

Intercax is proud to announce the release of Syndeia 3.5 Service Pack 2 (3.5 SP2).

In this section, the availability, downloads, and the list of improvements in Syndeia 3.5 SP2 are presented.

Availability

1. Aras Integration Improvements

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes a bug fix related to fetching latest versions of parts with spaces in their names from the Syndeia Client Dashboard.

3. Confluence Integration Improvements

3.1. Support for Bearer authentication with Personal Access Token

Data Center and server editions of Confluence support Bearer Authentication using Personal Access Tokens - (.

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 adds support for Personal Access Token with Bearer Authentication when connecting to Confluence repositories, in addition to username and password which is used for Basic Authentication. On the Syndeia Web Dashboard, users can select between Basic or Bearer Authentication type when connecting to a Confluence repository.

Note: This improvement is also available for Jira repositories. See the section below on Jira Integration Improvements.

3.2. Improved handling of search results

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in handling of Confluence search results. Confluence pages created in older versions of a Confluence server may not have certain meta-properties populated. This version of Syndeia has improved handling for Confluence pages when certain meta-properties are not populated.

4. DOORS NG Integration Improvements

4.1 Improvements in searching DOORS NG artifacts in CM-Enabled projects

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements and bug fixes when searching for artifacts in DOORS NG projects where Configuration Management is enabled (CM Enabled).

4.2 Improvements in fetching attribute definitions of DOORS NG artifact types in CM-Enabled projects

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in fetching attribute definitions of DOORS NG artifact types in CM-Enabled projects when creating custom mappings in Syndeia Clients (Cameo/Rhapsody plugins) for model transformations.

4.3 Improvements in fetching attribute values of DOORS NG artifacts in CM-Enabled projects

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in fetching attribute values of DOORS NG artifacts in different configurations (streams and baselines) of CM-Enabled projects during models transforms with custom mappings.

5. GitHub Integration Improvements

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes a bug fix related to HTML URLs for file/folder names with spaces when a user tries to open the file/folder in GitHub web application from the Syndeia Dashboard.

6. GitLab Integration Improvements

6.1 Support for changes in GitLab pagination

Recent GitLab software updates on both SaaS and Self-Managed deployments include changes in the pagination parameters in the GitLab REST API responses. Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes updates to handle pagination changes in the GitLab REST API. Syndeia will work with both the older GitLab deployments (without pagination parameter changes) and the newer GitLab deployments (with pagination parameter changes).

6.2 Improvements in browsing GitLab artifacts

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improved error handling when fetching and viewing GitLab project artifacts in the Syndeia Dashboards. Different versions of GitLab servers can serve content with different meta properties even with the same API version. Syndeia 3.5 SP2 provides better error handling when connecting to different versions of GitLab repositories within your organization from the same Syndeia instance.

7. Jama Integration Improvements

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in visualizing Jama Connect items in the Syndeia Web Dashboard. As before, the Jama Connect projects are sorted and displayed in the Syndeia Web Dashboard. With Syndeia 3.5 SP2 release, the Syndeia Web Dashboard will display items in a Jama Connect project in the exact same order as the native Jama Connect web application without applying any sorting, as shown in the screenshot below. Users can arrange the order of items in a Jama Connect project and this order is preserved when browsing the contents of a Jama Connect project in the Syndeia Web Dashboard.

8. Jira Integration Improvements

8.1. Support for Bearer authentication with Personal Access Token

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in models compare/sync between SysML model elements and Jira issues, including bug fixes in handling both user account id and email when fetching assignee and reporters.

9. SysML v1.x Integration Improvements

9.1 Improvement in Rhapsody Integration

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements related to validation checks before applying custom stereotypes to UML/SysML elements in Rhapsody during model transformations and sync.

9.2 Improvement in applying stereotypes during model transforms

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements in applying stereotypes to UML/SysML model elements during model transforms with custom mappings. If multiple stereotypes are applied such that one is a direct/in-direct specialization of the other, then the specialized stereotypes are retained and the general ones are removed. This avoid redundancies with stereotype applications.

9.3 Improvements in browsing SysML models

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements related to browsing SysML elements in Syndeia Clients (Cameo/Rhapsody plugins).

10. Teamcenter Integration Improvements

10.1 Support for separate host/URL for Teamcenter Active Workspace

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 allows users to specify the Active Workspace server URL separately from the Teamcenter repository/server URL.

Syndeia connects directly with the Teamcenter server and allows users to open items in Teamcenter Web Client, Rich Client, or Active Workspace. Prior to this release (Syndeia 3.5 SP2), the Active Workspace server host was constrained to be the same as the Teamcenter server host with an alternate port. This limitation is now removed in Syndeia 3.5 SP2. A separate host URL can be provided for the Active Workspace server, as shown above.

10.2 Improvements in handling NX files managed in Teamcenter

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements related to accessing and browsing part-assembly structures in NX models managed in Teamcenter.

11. Windchill Integration Improvements

11.1 Improvements in Windchill pagination on Syndeia Web Dashboard (Syndeia Cloud)

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements related to pagination of Windchill containers (Products, Projects, and Libraries) and folder contents when browsing a Windchill repository in the Syndeia Web Dashboard.

11.2 Improvements in Windchill 12.x repository browsing in Syndeia Rhapsody Plugin

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes improvements related to browsing Windchill 12 repositories in the Syndeia Rhapsody plugin. These improvements were done to handle updates in Windchill 12 libraries and related conflicts with Rhapsody plugin environment.

12. Zephyr Scale Integration Improvements

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 resolves an issue with the HTML URL for test execution artifacts in Zephyr Scale. Newer versions of Zephyr Scale have a new URL format for test execution results. With this fix, users can continue to right click on test execution results in the Syndeia Dashboard and open them in the Zephyr Scale view of a Jira project.

13. General Improvements

13.1 Improvements in pagination of search results and inputs on Syndeia Web Dashboard

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes several improvements in the pagination of search results and search inputs when searching repositories (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitHub) on the Syndeia Web Dashboard. Users will experience improved pagination of search results with the “Fetch more” (Cloud) icon in the search results area, and when selecting search inputs, e.g. when selecting a specific Project in a repository, as shown below.

13.2 Improvement in relation analytics presented on the Syndeia Web Dashboard

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes a bug fix that was preventing the display of relation count (in certain scenarios) on the landing page of the Syndeia Web Dashboard.

13.3 Improvements in documentation for Syndeia Cloud, Web Dashboard, and Syndeia Clients

Syndeia 3.5 SP2 includes several improvements in the Syndeia online documentation for Syndeia Cloud, Syndeia Cloud Web Dashboard, and Syndeia Clients (Cameo/Rhapsody plugins).

13.4 Improvements in Syndeia Cloud Installation

13.7 Upgrade of Intercax License Server to RLM 15.1

In Syndeia 3.5 SP2, the Intercax License Server has been upgraded to use the latest Reprise License Manager (RLM) 15.1.
