3.5 Local -> 3.6 Local
If you were using Syndeia 3.5 (SP2) in Local Mode (without Syndeia Cloud 3.5) and want to upgrade to Syndeia 3.6 in Local Mode, then please read and follow these instructions.
Syndeia 3.5 uses the 3.5
 sub-folder under the .syndeia
folder in your user home directory. This is to allow users to operate multiple versions of Syndeia plugins, installed with different versions of MagicDraw, on the same computer.
Syndeia 3.6 uses the 3.6
 sub-folder under the .syndeia
folder in your user home directory. This is to allow users to operate multiple versions of Syndeia plugins, installed with different versions of MagicDraw, on the same computer.
- On Windows 10, this would beÂ
C:\Users\<Your Account>\.syndeia\3.5
- On Mac OS X, this would beÂ
/Users/<Your Account>/.syndeia/3.5
- On Linux (Ubuntu), this would beÂ
/home/<Your Account>/.syndeia/3.5
(1) Copy the repos.info
file in your .syndeia/3.5
 folder to the .syndeia/3.6
 folder, as shown above.
(2) Install the Syndeia Plugins for 3.6 into your workstation modeling tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, Standalone)
(3) Open the appropriate modeling tool, open a Syndeia-using model from your use of Syndeia 3.6, verify that the Syndeia Utility Help About popup shows that you are now running Syndeia 3.6 in SYSML_STORE mode.
(4) Perform routine Syndeia operations to confirm that Syndeia 3.6 is operational.
(5) Make backups.
(6) Proceed with the migration to Syndeia 3.6 Cloud by following the migration guide for users who have Syndeia 3.5 SP2 installed - as you do now. Continue at 3.6 Local -> 3.6 Cloud
Using Syndeia Cloud 3.6
We strongly recommend using Syndeia with Syndeia Cloud for scalability, reliability, and performance. Syndeia usage with a local store should only be for evaluation purposes.
Furthermore, there are many capabilities of Syndeia 3.6 – your ultimate goal if you are reading this guide – which require the installation of Syndeia Cloud.
