Appendix W - Windows Server Support
Syndeia Cloud 3.6 SP1 is using newer versions of infrastructure components - Cassandra, JanusGraph, Kafka, and Zookeeper. This is necessary for expanding Syndeia capabilities and for enhanced cybersecurity.
Refer to the following pages for details:
Deployment | Software: Version Compatibility (Software: Version Compatibility section)

Specifically, Cassandra version 4+ is no longer supported on Windows Server. Syndeia Cloud 3.6 SP1 requires Cassandra 4.1.
In most cases, Syndeia Cloud deployments at our customer organizations are conducted on Linux, with a preference for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or RHEL-derived distributions such as CentOS, Rocky Linux, and AlmaLinux. However, if any teams are still utilizing Windows Server for deploying Syndeia Cloud, we encourage them to contact us by submitting a request through our helpdesk. We are happy to provide assistance.
We recommend the following potential paths forward:
Transition to Linux-based Deployments: Migrating from Windows Server to Linux for Syndeia Cloud deployments is encouraged to align with best practices and ensure optimal performance.
Interim Solution via Containers: As a temporary workaround, teams can consider using containerization technologies, such as Docker, for deploying infrastructure components while maintaining compatibility.
Note - This is only for Syndeia Cloud deployments. Syndeia Web Dashboard, Syndeia Clients (Cameo / Rhapsody / Standalone) are supported on multiple OSs, e.g. Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
