All users who would need to use the floating license should be able to access the floating license server machine from their desktops/laptops, and use a client license-server reference-file that points to the floating license server.
Follow these steps to configure the client license.
Locate the file
Floating Template.lic
included in your license server folder.Rename the file to <product_name>
_
<companyName>_client_license_file.lic
, where <product_name> is Syndeia (for example) and the <companyName> is the name of your organization.Open the file in a text editor. You should see something like the following:
HOST [license server name or ip address] [ANY or ether=<MAC_ADDRESS>] [5053 (default) or designated RLM port] ISV intercax [port=5055 (default) or designated vendor service port]
Make these changes:
Replace
[license server name or ip address]
with the IP address (or URL) of your license server machineReplace
[5053 (default) or designated license server port number]
with 5053 or a designated license server port your provided to us per the Pre-reqs section here. Example:HOST myLicenseServerHost.mydomain.com ANY 5053 ISV intercax
Save and close the file
Provide this file to each user who will be using Syndeia and will need a floating license. They should copy this file into the .syndeia
folder under their user directory.
