In this section, availability, downloads, and the list of improvements in Syndeia 3.4 Service Pack 2 (SP2) are presented.

Availability

  1. Syndeia 3.4 SP2 is available for download starting Mar 25, 2022.

  2. Syndeia 3.4 SP2 includes:

    1. Syndeia Cloud 3.4 SP2, including Syndeia Web Dashboard

    2. Syndeia Cloud REST API 3.4 SP2

    3. Syndeia local clients 3.4 SP2

      1. Syndeia MagicDraw/Cameo plugins for:

        1. MagicDraw 18.5/19.0 SPx

        2. MagicDraw 2021x Refresh 2 Hotfix 1 and above

      2. Syndeia Rhapsody plugin for Rhapsody 8.4 and above.

      3. Syndeia Standalone

Downloads and Installation

  1. Existing Syndeia users with an active subscription can request Syndeia 3.4 SP2 installation files by opening a request on our helpdesk.

  2. For Syndeia local clients, follow the instructions under the Installation sections. Use the 3.4 SP2 installation files when following the instructions.

Improvements

1. Removal of log4j from Syndeia clients

Starting with Syndeia 3.4 SP2, the Syndeia clients - MagicDraw plugin, Rhapsody plugin, and Standalone - have switched from using log4j (version 1.2.17) to logback (version 1.2.10) as the core library for logging services. Syndeia Cloud has always used logback as the core library for logging services. There is no change in the use of logback in Syndeia Cloud.

2. Support for MagicDraw 2021x Refresh 2 Hotfix 1 and later versions

Syndeia 3.4 SP2 adds support for MagicDraw 2021x Refresh 2 Hotfix 1. There are two different Syndeia clients (plugins) for MagicDraw available with Syndeia 3.4 SP2.

  2. Syndeia 3.4 SP2 plugin for MagicDraw 2021x Refresh 2 Hotfix 1 (and above)

Both plugins are available in the download area of Syndeia 3.4 SP2.

Issues resolved: SYN-2502, IHD-1756, IHD-1996, IHD-1997, IHD-2020, IHD-2101, IHD-2102, IHD-2119, IHD-2217

Issues existing:

  • SYN-2467 - There is a known issue with Windchill integration when used with MagicDraw 2021x Refresh 2 Hotfix 1 in Syndeia 3.4 SP2. Users may experience problems in fetching parts in Windchill containers. We are working with the Dassault CATIA Magic team to debug and resolve this issue. Note that this only affects MagicDraw 2021x. The integration works as expected in Syndeia 3.4 SP2 clients - MagicDraw 18.5/19.0 SPx plugin, Rhapsody plugin, and Standalone.

3. Improved error handling and logging with Creo sessions

Syndeia 3.4 SP2 clients include several improvements to error handling and logging when managing sessions to Creo CAD modeling tool.

4. Improved error handling with Windchill part usages and occurrences

Syndeia 3.4 SP2 clients include improved error handling with Windchill part usages and occurrences when performing model transformations or create reference relations.

Issues resolved: SYN-2441

5. Improvements in Syndeia installation scripts

Syndeia Cloud 3.4 SP2 comes with improvements to installation scripts related to Windows deployment, JanusGraph configuration, and multi-node deployment topologies.

6. Other improvements

In addition to the improvements listed above, Syndeia 3.4 SP2 includes several minor improvements, bug fixes, documentation updates, and improved error handling in Syndeia Web Dashboard and local clients, as well as in the installation and configuration of Syndeia Cloud (server).
