Jama Connect Repositories
In this section, the Syndeia Web Dashboard capabilities for Jama Connect repositories are presented.

Add a Jama Connect Repository
(1) Click the Repositories icon in the LHS menu pane.
(2) Select Jama in the list of Repository types on the LHS and click on the + icon to add a new Jama Connect repository, as shown below.
(3) Fill out the details for your Jama Connect server (repository), as shown below, and click the Create button.
URL - Base URL of your Jama Connect repository
Name - Name of the Jama Connect repository. Provide a unique name to distinguish this Jama Connect repository from others you may add.
Description - Description of the Jama Connect repository
Authentication type - Basic (default)
Username - Username to sign in to your Jama Connect repository. Enter the same username that you use on the Jama Connect web client.
Password - Password to sign in to your Jama Connect repository. Enter the same password that you use on the Jama Connect web client.
Browse a Jama Connect Repository
(1) Expand the Jama Connect repository after it has been added.
(2) If your repository details are correct, Syndeia Cloud will try to sign in to the Jama Connect repository and display all Projects that are accessible to you, as shown below.
(3) Expand a Project to view Items under that project, e.g. Components, as shown above.
(4) Expand a Component to view Items under that Component, e.g. Sets.
(5) Expand a Set to view Items under that Set, e.g. Folders, Requirements, and other Items.
(6) For any Item, expand the Upstream/Downstream categories, shown using upward/downward arrows, to view the upstream/downstream relationships for that Item.
Search a Jama Connect Repository
Users can search Projects and Items in a Jama Connect repository. Click on the Search icon on the RHS to see the Search tab.
(1) Project search
Select the Search for projects option, as shown below.
Specify any text string contained in the names of Projects you are searching for.
Click the Search button. Results are shown on the RHS.
(2) Item search
Select the Search for items option, as shown below.
Search an Item using its REST/HTTP API ID
The API ID of an Item can be seen in the URL (address bar) of the Jama Connect web client when that Item is selected. For example, if the URL shows
https://myJamaConnect.myorg.com/perspective.req#/items/18874?projectId=30
, the API ID is 18874Select the option Search Item by ID
Specify the Item ID
Click the Search button. Results are shown on the RHS.
Search an Item using its Document Key
The Document Key of an Item can be seen in the ID field of the Jama Connect web client when that Item is selected, as shown below
Select the option Search item by document key, as shown in the Search view below.
Specify the ID (Document Key)
Click the Search button. Results are shown on the RHS.
Search an Item using text in any field
Select the option Search items by text/type, as shown in the Search view below.
Select an Item type from the Select artifact type dropdown.
Specify any text string contained in any field of the Items you are searching for.
Click the Search button. Results are shown on the RHS.

The Digital Thread Explorer for Jama Connect will show both intra-model relationships, e.g. upstream/downstream relationships between Items, and inter-model relationships created using Syndeia, e.g. relationships between Items and SysML models (Teamwork Cloud), test cases (TestRail), software modules (GitHub), hardware models (PLM/CAD), or other artifacts in your digital thread.
