DOORS NG Repositories

In this section, the Syndeia Web Dashboard capabilities for DOORS NG (DNG) repositories are presented.

Add a DOORS NG (DNG) Repository

(1) Click the Repositories icon in the LHS menu pane.

(2) Select DOORS-NG in the list of Repository types on the LHS and click on the + icon to add a new DNG repository, as shown below.

 

(3) Fill out the details for your DNG server (repository), as shown below, and click the Create button.

  • URL - Base URL of your DNG repository.

  • Name - Name of the DNG repository. Provide a unique name to distinguish this DNG repository from others you may add.

  • Description - Description of the DNG repository

  • Authentication type - Basic (default)

  • Username - Username to sign in to your DNG repository. Enter the same username that you use on the DNG web client.

  • Password - Password to sign in to your DNG repository. Enter the same password that you use on the DNG web client.


Browse a DOORS NG (DNG) Repository

(1) Expand the DNG repository after it has been added.

(2) If your repository details are correct, Syndeia Cloud will try to sign in to the DNG repository and display Projects, as shown below:

(3) Expand a Project.

  • If the Project is Configuration Management (CM) enabled, you will see Components and contents of the Project (e.g. Folders and Artifacts) in the default Configuration (default Stream of the default Component). Expand a Component to view Baselines and Streams in that Component. Expand a Baseline or Stream to view its contents (Folders and Artifacts).

  • If the Project is not Configuration Management (CM) enabled, you will only see the contents of the Project (e.g. Folders and Artifacts).

(4) Expand an Artifact (e.g. a Requirement) to view Links (e.g. Satisfies, Verifies) from/to the expanded Artifact, as shown above.


Search a DOORS NG (DNG) Repository

Users can search for DNG Projects or Artifacts in a Project. Click on the Search icon on the RHS to see the Search tab.

(1) Project search

  • Select Project in the Select type option, as shown below.

  • Specify any text string contained in the name(s) of the Projects you are searching for.

  • Click the Search button. The result will be shown on the RHS.

(2) Artifact search in a regular Project (not CM-enabled)

  • Select Artifact Search in the Select type option, as shown below.

  • Select a non-CM-enabled Project in which you are searching for Artifacts.

  • Select the Artifact Type. Options are Resource, Collection, and Folder.

  • Specify the Identifier of the Artifact (for Resource or Collection) or any text string contained in the name (for Folder).

  • Click the Search button. The result will be shown on the RHS.

 

(2) Artifact search in a CM-enabled Project

  • Select Artifact Search in the Select type option, as shown below.

  • Select a CM-enabled Project in which you are searching for Artifacts.

  • Select a Component and Baseline/Stream in which you are searching for Artifacts.

  • Select the Artifact Type. Options are Resource, Collection, and Folder.

  • Specify the Identifier of the Artifact (for Resource or Collection) or any text string contained in the name (for Folder).

  • Click the Search button. The result will be shown on the RHS.


Digital Thread Explorer

The Digital Thread Explorer for DNG will show both intra-model relations between DNG artifacts (e.g. Satisfied By, Verified By), and inter-model relations created using Syndeia, e.g. relations between DNG artifacts and SysML model elements, software modules (GitHub or GitLab), issues (JIRA), hardware models (PLM/CAD), or other artifacts in your digital thread.
